Interdisciplinary Artist & Designer based in Tokyo
仙(Sen) is an interdisciplinary artist and designer based in Tokyo. After moving to the UK, she lived there for ten years and studied textile design in London, focusing on weaving, printing, and embroidery. Later, in Shanghai, she worked as a womenswear designer and began creating accessories. Her work has been featured at Shanghai Fashion Week and in magazines such as Marie Claire China. She also gained experience as a stylist assistant in the fashion editorial world.
Beyond the field of design, Sen is also a dancer who is fascinated by the abstract transformations created through the movement of light and shadow. She has also designed stage costumes and directed performance films and choreography projects, exploring the intersection between motion, material, and perception.
Much of Sen’s inspiration comes from the colours she observes in everyday life. As a central element of visual experience, colour can directly convey scenes, objects, textures, emotions, and memories. When combined with different materials, forms, and light, it often sparks new ideas and creative directions.
In 2023, after returning to London, Sen began to focus more deeply on her personal creative direction. In April 2024, she launched Studio Pyorii during her graduation show. Pyorii means “spinning” in Finnish, inspired by a pinwheel featured in her stop-motion animation. The spinning pinwheel symbolises the transformation between the physical and the intangible—
“The spinning pinwheel brings forth a free-flowing wind—something physical creating something intangible.”
This philosophy lies at the core of Studio Pyorii: using handcrafted, physical objects to evoke sensory experiences and subtle connections, creating a dialogue between the physical and the intangible. The name also references yarn-spinning, nodding to Sen’s textile roots and her ongoing exploration of material, movement, and transformation.

東京を拠点に活動するインターディシプリナリー・アーティスト／デザイナー
仙(セン) は東京を拠点に活動する、アーティスト兼デザイナーであり、さまざまな領域を横断しながら創作を行っています。その後、上海でレディースウェアデザイナーとして勤務しながら、アクセサリー作品の制作を開始。作品は上海ファッションウィークで発表され、『Marie Claire China』などの雑誌でも紹介されました。
また、ファッション編集の分野でスタイリストアシスタントとしても経験を積み、幅広い創作経験を持ちます。
デザインの領域にとどまらず、ダンサーとしても活動するSenは、「動く光と影が生み出す抽象的な変化」に強い関心を抱いています。舞台衣装のデザインや、パフォーマンス映像・振付作品の演出も手がけ、動き・素材・感覚の交差点を探求しています。
Senのインスピレーションは、日常の中で観察する「色彩」から多くを得ています。色は視覚体験の核となる要素であり、場面・物質・質感・記憶を直接的に伝えることができます。異なる素材・形態・光が組み合わさるとき、そこには新たな発想や創造の可能性が生まれます。
2023年、Senはロンドンに再び拠点を移し、個人としての創作活動に一層注力するようになりました。
2024年4月、卒業制作展を機に《Studio Pyorii》を設立。
「Pyorii（ピョーリ）」とはフィンランド語で「回転する」という意味を持ち、彼女のストップモーションアニメに登場する風車から着想を得ています。
風車の回転は「有形と無形のあいだの変化」を象徴しており、
「回転する風車が風を生み出す——有形のものが無形のものを創り出す」
という考えがStudio Pyoriiの核となる理念です。
手仕事によって生まれる有形物を通して、感覚的な体験や繊細なつながりを呼び起こし、
有形と無形の間に対話を生み出すこと。
この想いが、Studio Pyoriiの活動の根底にあります。
また、その名前は糸を紡ぐ動作にも通じ、Senのテキスタイルの背景や、素材・動き・変化に対する継続的な探究を象徴しています。
